We want to share this with everyone in appreciation of the many individual that is involved with the YN Program and the Annual Convention. BRNA received the following letter from an parent who went with her son to the 50th Annual Convention praising the BRNA YN Program. It is always a pleasure in receiving this type of letter.

To the Members of the Blue Ridge Numismatic Association:
I would like to thank you so much for the wonderful Young Numismatic Program you
put on, for children each year at the NW GA Trade Center, during your coin show.
My son has been attending your shows for the past several years and is so proud
of all of the coins he has collected. But - my son was never interested in coin
collecting until we happened upon your show one year.
The shows are fun, very informative, inspiring, and always add to my son’s coin
and paper money collection. AND - as an adult, I have just as much fun as my son
does and can’t wait for the next show to roll around.
This year, I would like to say a special thank you for having Dennis Boggs, the
Abraham Lincoln impersonator: who gave a speech at the show. WOW! Was that ever
one of the best and most fun history lessons that I’ve ever heard and my son
loved it too. My son said he was a very good actor and loved all the stories he
told. So “hats off” to Mr. Boggs for an outstanding performance!
Let me also extend my deepest gratitude to all of the dealers that reached into
their own pockets and donated gifts to the children. Everything from even the
most outdated books to the most expensive coin was so appreciated by everyone.
So, please do not feel your donations are given in vain. In each show that I
have attended, I have seen the eyes of these little children light up as if it
were Christmas morning when getting the smallest of gifts. So - thank you.
My husband and I have notices that all of the things that we as adults and
Americans, hold dear to our hearts, are slowly falling to the way side with this
new generation of kids. And, it’s not just coin collecting but so many other
things that go deeper than that. But, when an organization comes along that can
contribute to keeping some of these roots still in the ground and even sprouting
new ones - well - it helps to keep small portions of America alive as we once
knew it.
So, again, I say thank you. Thank you to all of the members of the Blue Ridge
Numismatic Association, volunteers, dealers that donated, and also the dealers
that show up for our purchasing, selling and trading.
Sincerely,
/signed/
Annette
