President’s Message

It is almost time for BRNA’s 49th Annual Convention and things are rolling along fine.

We still need any memorabilia that members may have on BRNA’s past shows and any history items that you have lying around. We want to have a display of these items at our 50th Anniversary Convention next year. If any of you have any items that we could use please let one of the Board members know.

There is still a short time left for Board nominations for the upcoming election. Nominations must be received NLT 31 May 2007. If you are interested in serving on the board or know of someone who would, please get the nominations in ASAP. The organization can always use a few good workers. If you would like to volunteer to help out at the August Convention please notify Bob Hurst and let him know that you would like to be involved.

The year in Numismatic has been very active so far with the rise in gold and silver prices and with the influx of new collectors because of the Statehood Quarter Program. Nice collectible coins appear to be getting harder to find and prices on the better date coins seem to go up each month. We are in the last year of the Statehood Quarter Program but the Mint has decided that next year they will make a series of quarters for the US Territories. Hopefully this will bring in even more collectors into the hobby.

I would like to thank all the officers, board members, bourse chairman and journal editor/webmaster for all their great work so far this year.  I also hope to see you all at an upcoming show soon.

Gary
