Editor’s Notes

Well another year is over with and a new one has started. Hope that everyone enjoyed their Christmas and New Year with families and loved ones.

It seems that the time has started going faster. I do not know if it is the life style or just getting older. I thought that I just finished putting the touches on the last journal and before I knew it this one is coming due shortly. Like I said for some reason I had a hard time completing the Jul-Sep Journal. Maybe there was a lot of items that needed to be covered and I could not get my hands around the layout. Well, will try to do better on this one.

I know that some of the dealers has started getting ready for the FUN Show that starts the season for everyone. If for some reason you have not attended the FUN Show, I would highly recommend it.  I have been involved in the show for over 10 plus years and it is amazing the volume of dealers and collectors that attend every year.  Come if you can.

In the last issue Richard Jozefiak provided an article about the US Tokens seminar that he attended at ANA. Richard has provided some photos that he took during the ANA Summer Seminar.

In this issue Alex Troxell the recipient of the YN Scholarship to the 2007 Summer Seminar provides an article on Collecting World Coins. Alex provided some insight into the collecting of World Coins and again thanks to Alex for the article.

Nick Boyd has provided an article about his start as a collector and then as a dealer. Nick is the owner of Tradernick Coins & Collectibles of Kissimmee, Florida.

Michael S. Fey has provided an article on The Mystery of the Ultra Rare 1873 Doubled Shield Dime. Thanks to Michael for this article and hope that he will be able to provide more articles in the future.

Blenda Brush provided a survey where she ask Charlotte and Claude Tolliver to complete for this issue. It provides some insight into their experience in the coin collecting arena.

As I have mention in the past Journals, I am still looking for collectors and dealers to write some articles that can be used. Dealers if you have generated an article in the past that you would like to share with the members of BRNA just contact the editor. The articles would be appreciated and I know that it would provide some interesting reading to the members.

Looking for Coin Clubs that are Life Members of  the BRNA to update our list with the latest contact information. For member clubs contact either Blenda Brush or myself. If there would be any information that the Clubs would like to share, just contact myself at the email address below. If you would contact the members of your club to see if anyone would like to provide an article that would be included in the Journal provide the email address to them.

WANTED: BRNA is looking for any memorabilia for the upcoming 50th Annual BRNA Convention that will be held in 2009.  This will become more and more intense as the 2009 Convention gets closer.

Thanks and everyone have a very safe time and enjoy friends, family and loved ones.
